Studio Policies
In an effort to ensure every dancer has the best experience at Premier Dance Studio, the following policies will be strictly enforced.
- Students must arrive at least 5 minutes before class.
- No student will be admitted to class late.
- Students must be picked up from the studio within 15 minutes of the conclusion of their classes.
- Please notify the studio 24 hours in advance of a class absence.
- Missed classes may be made up in another class of similar age and level.
- If a student is absent for more than three classes during the months of March through May for reasons other than illness/injury, they may not participate in the annual recital.
- All monthly tuition payments are to be paid in full at the first lesson of each month.
- Payments made after the 10th of the month are subject to a $5.00 surcharge.
- Students may be asked to sit out of class if tuition is not received by the 15th of the month.
- Tuition is based on a four-week month. Tuition will be the same whether it is a three or five week month.
- All students will abide by the Premier Dance Studio Dress Code with the exception of the adult tap class.
- Students will respect their teachers and never disrupt a class.
- Parents will make an appointment to speak with a teacher and never approach them between classes.
- All costumes are ordered during the month of December. Costume orders are placed only for costumes paid in full at the time of ordering. NO EXCEPTIONS. Dancers will be “sized” for costumes during the first week in December. Any student requiring a size larger than large adult or a special order may be subject to additional charges. Costume payments do not include shoes or tights. Once costumes are ordered, there will be no refunds.
- Food, chewing gum, drinks (other than water) are not allowed in the classroom.
- There are NO PRO-RATED FEES for missed classes or holidays. There will be NO REFUNDS for classes missed, with the exception of private and semi-private lessons. Once registered, student class placement is considered reserved for the season and it is expected to be a financial commitment for the season.
- In the case of a withdrawal from Premier Dance, the director should be notified immediately if a child must withdraw from a class. Until such time, the space will be held for the student and the charges invoiced to the parents or guardians. Any fee in arrears will also be assessed. A payment schedule may be arranged for families with financial hardship. Once a student has quit twice in the middle of the season for reasons other than illness or hardship, the parents should not consider returning to our studio. It is not conducive with our philosophy to participate when quitting becomes a habit.
- Students should arrive dressed ACCORDING TO THE DRESS CODE and with all necessary hair accessories and extra shoes in a dance bag. Students’ names should be on every item. Students who are not adequately prepared or are late to class will only observe. Premier Dance will assume no responsibility for lost ,stolen or misplaced items.
- The teacher will only dismiss students. If class started late, it may run late. If a student needs to be excused for any reason during class, they must ask permission of the teacher. No child will be released on their own accord. For early dismissal, the parent must make arrangements prior and come to the door to retrieve the child. This is a matter of safety.
- Proper respect for the director, studio, curriculum, fellow students and facility is EXPECTED of all students, parents, and siblings on or off-site. When participating in a studio event, performance or when wearing the studio logo, general deportment is as important as your ability to dance.
- Violation of any of the above policies may result in a student being asked to leave the studio.
